Central station Hanover

BIM within the project and structural planning for the redevelopment of six platform roofings

With approx. 250.000 passengers daily, the station is one of the most highly frequented long-distance railway stations in Germany, earning itself the moniker ”shopping station” due to giving space to more than 50 retailers. Respectively, the station operation was to be affected as little as possible by the required works.

ZPP INGENIEURE supported DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH during this, especially pertaining to the construction operation, challenging planning task. During service phases 1 and 2, ZPP INGENIEURE thereby developed the solution concepts for the renewal, respectively redevelopment of the roofing of all six platforms. The stocktaking, including the modelling as an as-built model in areas where there were no existing documents, was also subject of the commission.

In the course of a pilot project by DB Station&Service, the complete planning process was applied under utilisation of the Building Information Modeling (BIM).
