ZPP engineers are surveying the Marbach
The Mahrbach in the inner-city area of the City of Bochum was rebuilt into a combined sewer through different construction stages between the years 1911 and 1972. Several sections have been relocated as walkable structures beneath the ground level within the frame of this reconstruction.
Within the frame of the now upcoming ecological improvement of the Emscher, in the meantime the Marbach was freed from wastewater.
The 16 different structures within the section from km 5,02 to km 0,00 were investigated concerning the structural stability and tightness in cooperation with the Emschergenossenschaft. In a subsequent step, required repair measures were planned by ZPP.
