Component tests on high-performance jacking pipes
With the "central innovation middle class programme" by the Federal Ministry for Economy and Energy, a cooperation between the TU Kaiserslautern, Betonwerk Müller GmbH and ZPP Ingenieure AG was able to develop an innovative jacking pipe from concrete. The new pipe offers a significantly higher performance concerning the mechanical load capacity and surface quality, due to technical improvements of the geometry and material properties.
The acceptable drive force was examined on a produced prototype at the MPA Darmstadt. Two pipe segments with maximum angulation were joined and loaded in the test bench. The achieved results even surpassed the prognoses and verify the excellent results of the development process.
