Power Plant Mittelsbueren

Structural verification of the GFK cooling water conduit

On the location of the municipal utilities Bremen in Bremen-Mittelsbueren, a new power plant unit is being developed. Here, the municipal utilities Bremen are already operating two units. This reliable generative site offers the best prerequisites, as, e.g., the supply line for the natural gas and some necessary, electric devices are already available. The new, highly efficient and flexible gas-steam power plant will provide a net performance of 445 MW.

The connection of the cell cooler in the new building of the joint venture power plant is utilised through GFK conduits. The GFK conduits provide a length of approximately 133 m, offer a nominal diameter of 1600 to 2000 mm and are laid as a pressure line underground.

The company Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios S.A. commissioned ZPP with the structural verification of these GFK conduits and its associated foundation buildings. Aside from the static and constructive verification of the structural stability proof, our performance area also included supervising the execution of construction work by means of random on site-sampling.
