Combined Cycle Plant Malženice

Construction-technological consulting concerning cracking on the cooling water pump structure

The combined cycle power plant Malženice near the Slovak capital Bratislava has a gross electrical output of 430 MW. The plant can produce more than three billion kilowatt hours and the efficiency of the power plant is over 58 percent, thus setting new standards in the Slovak electricity standard.

ZPP or the predecessor company assisted the client in assessing the cracking in the pump building UQB. The static calculations and reinforcement plans of the building were tested for a possible required crack width limiting reinforcement and compared with the requirements in accordance with German standards and guidelines. It was admitted and evaluated of the found cracks and already carried out renovations as part of a site visit.
