Project planning and structural planning for the pedestrian bridge over the Street of Nations

The bridge structure connects two park areas in the Europaviertel in Frankfurt am Main.

The pedestrian and bikeway bridge was processed as a steel construction with two inner-tilted arches. The span width amounts to approx. 32 m and the left width approx. 4,0 m between the handrails.
The carriageway platform was formed as an orthotropic platform, then connected with the arch through suspensions and put onto the cross beamcross girder.

A special focus was put on the design. The colour design of the steel structure, as well as an optic extension of the bridge lead to a fitting picture inside the surroundings.

ZPP was commissioned for BWP Endreß Landschaftsarchitekten with the project planning in section 3 - civil engineering structures for the service phases 1-9 (basic evaluation, pre-planning, draft planning, approval planning, execution planning, preparation of the contract awarding, participating in the contract awarding process, site management and project supervision/support) according to HOAI (Official Scale of Fees for Services by Architects and Engineers).
We also were commissioned with the specialist planning in section 1 - structural planning for the service phases 1-6 (basic evaluation, pre-planning, draft planning, approval planning, execution planning and preparation of the contract awarding) according to HOAI.
